Benet Wilson is quoted as saying “extraordinary times require extraordinary measures” … and these are certainly extraordinary times. This year’s Camp Connect will be our first “virtual camp” but we’re planning to make this extraordinary.

The schedule will be similar to prior years, but events will be held in the comfort of your own home using Camp Twin Lakes: Connect* (CTL’s virtual platform):
Friday evening: Opening Ceremony
Saturday: Activities
Sunday morning: Activities
Sunday early afternoon: Closing Ceremony

Unique activities are still being planned but they will include family spirit connections, connections by age group with Pku and non-Pku specific learning activities, cooking demonstrations and parent-specific networking opportunities. We will communicate additional details as they become available.

Please join us in September for a truly unique experience – just for PKU families!

Here are the details:

When: Friday, Sept. 11th – Sunday, Sept. 13th
Where: Online! (Camp Twin Lakes Connect*)
Cost: NO CHARGE THIS YEAR!
(Includes t-shirts and other goodies to be sent to your home)
  • Registration Opens – July 1st
  • Registration Closes – August 9th

Special COVID-19 Note

Dear Georgia PKU Connect Community,

It goes without saying that what we are experiencing because of COVID-19 is unlike anything most of us have experienced in our lifetimes. The dramatic impact on society is reflected in our new vocabulary – “social distancing”, “shelter in place”, “N95 mask”, “Zoom meetings”, “work from home”. We’ve all made adjustments that just a few months ago would have seemed inconceivable.

In light of the continued uncertainty around the risks associated with the COVID-19 virus, the Board has reluctantly decided this year to switch to a “virtual” camp in lieu of our traditional in-person camp. On the one hand, we believe that the Camp is an important time for PKU families to connect. On the other hand, the safety of our members is paramount. Though this will be a very different experience than prior years, we are already working hard to make this a unique and exciting time for having fun and connecting with other PKU families.

We hope that you will join us in this unique experiencce and we wish you and your loved ones the best in health and safety.

Sincerely,
Georgia PKU Connect Executive Board
Shiela, Kristen, John, and Christina
